How can SI predict that the Eagles will get to the Super Bowl let alone win the NFC East?

I've been a loyal Eagles fan all of my life, and would love it for them to be right, but my god i want whatever SI was smoking when they predicted this. Sure we have one of if not the most dangerous offense weapons in the game with westbrook, and with a healthy McNabb they should win 10 games and make the playoffs, but did they bother to take a look at the other side of the ball. Yea the secondary with Samuel, Brown, and Shepard is one of the best now, but did they just totally forget that besides Cole we have no one in our front 7. It showed last year with our horrendous run defense. Everyone's high on McNabb cause he played well the last 6 games, but they forgot that they meant virtually nothing. With the inconsistency of McNabb and the horrible front 7 i don't know how you could say this is a super bowl team. bottom line anything happens to westbrook or samuels and the season is over plus we still don't have any receivers. Hopefully this is McNabb's last season with us.

I like the Eagles this year too.  I picked them to win 2 playoff games, but lose to Seattle in the championship game.

As crazy as the Eagles winning the NFC sounds, at least SI got something right by not picking the Cowboys because we all know Dallas hasn't won a playoff game in 12 years soon to be 13.

Had to commend you being honest and speaking facts has not a dam thing to do with loyalty. And as you can see even by some of your own base one does not want to hear the BUT part of it. I have read the first part of your question and you speak good about your team. But you also speak about the slight problems you may encounter why lie it is what it is. I find this with a lot of fans here they throw down on other teams but refuse to speak about what is not perfect with their own. I to speak the truth about my team because I don't live in a fantasy world. We are suppose to be great rivals but that is here in football and has nothing to do with having something in common with those that speak the truth !! There are no perfect teams all 32 has some kind of problem that could hurt them a little and there is nothing wrong with stating it. And for those that say Dallas has not won a champinship gee where do you get off since the beginning of the Eagles team they have NEVER won a Superbowl. I would not say what another team has not done you need to remember that, when you are dishing out the venom history of other teams !!!

I couldn't believe it either. There is no way the Eagles will get past Dallas or Minneasota in the NFC. This prediction might jinx the Eagles anyway.

The Eagles will take the division and they will play in Tampa come February...you'll see. And McNabb has 3years left with us so don't hold your breath.  You gotta have faith man...McNabb is still a great QB he's not elite, but he's great. With Donnie Mac healthy and Kevin Curtis Healthy our passing game should improve this season.  And the SI writers were smoking Sour Diesel, not hard to find in Philly...

They are just trying to go out on a limb.

That way if the Eagles win everyone will think they are genious. Mcnabb is overrated, but the Eagles are solid team. I seem them as a near miss wildcard team.

1st the eagles r decent in every position. they have a good rotation at the d-line and r a threat in the secondary. 2nd mcNabb is a good QB and should 4 at least a couple more yrs. bc kolb is just not ready yet. 3rd why r u ??? the SI prediction?

Okay first of all I want to say that you sound like one of the Eagles fans who jumped on the hating Mcnabb bandwagon. Which is not a good thing

And secondly, have some faith in our birds! Theyve succeeded with worse teams than they now

Although I have to say that right now their special teams scares me.

Oh yeah and we can do just fine without Asante Samuel. Hes not THAT talented.
