  1. Lioness...I usually do not answer questions about abortion but your's deserves a fair answer.  This reflects the problem of generalization of what being a "feminist" means.  I am very much a feminist and I do support the pro-choice stance, but if you ask me if I believe abortion is right...no I do not.  I would never have an abortion nor recommend it to anyone.

I remember though, what life was like prior to abortion being legal and the terrible consequences of that situation.  More though, I do not believe I have a right to tell other's they cannot choose abortion simply because I believe it is wrong.

There are things I do not care for in Palin's policies and I would not support making abortion illegal, though I do support restrictions on late term abortions.  I do believe though that she does support women's rights, though certainly she is no Hillary.

  2. thedonut: It can be argued that since people who receive the death penalty commit horrible crimes its not the same as killing an unborn who's done nothing wrong to anyone.

I'm personally Anti-death penalty, but i'm just throwing it out there for the sake of enlightenment.

Lioness: She's pro-life, doesn't mean she wants abortion illegal.

I'm pro-life in most cases, i believe it should be saved for special circumstances, such as medical emergency or rape/incest.

I do not think it should be a form of birth control.

Person: Abortion isn't a personal choice though, it involves at least 2 people, 3 if you count the baby, it is not like birth control.

Saying "nobody should be forced to go through with a pregnancy" is, to me, like saying "nobody should be forced to pay child support". I believe there are certain responsibilities when it comes to reproduction. For both parties.

  3. She is pro-life, that doesnt mean she wants to make abortion illegal.  I am pro-life too...but I am reasonable enough to understand that making abortion illegal wont stop abortion it will just stop safe abortions.

  4. Yeah, I like how she is anti abortion but pro death penalty. Unless it's in self defense, taking a life is taking a life. There should be no distinction. It's hypocrisy. Unfortunately it's one area that the Republicans suck on. Regardless, I will still vote for McCaine. You have to pick your battles. It's very unlikely that you will find many candidates that will embody everything you personally stand for.

  5. Palin was a bad choice.  Never mind abortion (which I know is a hot issue), she's participated in a BEAUTY PAGEANT.  Can I say it?????  She is ridiculous!   Now more than ever I would not vote for McCain.  Besides it is seriously possible that he would die in office!  He's been diagnosed with cancer 4 times!

    Anyone want a President Palin?

  6. Gosh, I am soooo tired of people equating women's rights with abortion rights. I have said it before and I will say it again, I am against abortion because whether you believe life begins at conception or not, (I do) that fertilized egg is on its way to becoming an individual like no other who has existed, exists, or will ever exist. (hope that makes since). You can have s*x in the same exact position, time, with the same people, you will never be able to create that person. Life is the ultimate individual right.

  7. I'm looking for it...wondering if anyone else knows this.

Is she actively against all abortions? Actively trying to make it illegal?  or it a personal stance? just third tri?

Lots of grey areas with the statement "she is pro life"

  8. when can i expect my post-term abortion rights? these neighbors are affecting my body in negative ways.

  9. Well, to start with about half of all unborn babies are female and have a right to live.

You can read up on Palin with the links to local Alaska media coverage of the announcement in the special Sarah Palin section on the front page of http://www.USAMediaGuide.com, including a link to the Anchorage newspaper's biography of her.

  10. I think it's ridiculous. Of course I respect her, but I don't like her. Abortion is a personal choice and so is Birth Control. Like alcohol, just because it is illegal doesn't mean it will stop. There would be basement abortions and home-made birth control.

  11. One can be about women's rights and not pro-choice.  How odd that you classify ALL of women's rights down to this one issue.  Shouldn't equal pay be a woman's rights issue (as well as some other groups issues).  Shouldn't equal opportunity, equal treatment, etc. be women's rights?  So, if she is pro-life she, then, MUST be against these other points?  See what I mean?  You can, one, be for all these above listed rights and still be pro-life and two, you can be pro-life and still not make movements to make abortion illegal.

You shouldn't see the the world is such a narrow view-- people can hold  multitude of opinions that vary from yours but still believe in the same end result.

  12. she CAN'T. That is why I will vote for Obama!!!

  13. I've always wondered why pro-lifers are suddenly anti-women's rights.  Why?  Don't be spreading your legs if you don't want to get pregnant.  It's not a hard concept to figure out.  Yes, some women get pregnant from rape and don't choose it, but they are few and far between.

  14. Approximately half of unborn babies will grow up to be women if they are not killed before they are born.  Why aren't YOU standing up for the rights of un-born women?
