  1. With relationship to answer #1, I wish to emphasize the second point because it is the most important:

    Use less energy! Much less!

The second point: Use renewable energy is also important. Renewable energy is converted in form, most often to electricity, and relocated. Use of electricity most often converts the energy to heat and light. The use of any energy is an issue of thermal pollution, particularly an issue in and about big cities. Even light pollution is ecologically undesirable.

If the United States simply consumed only its share of energy, the world would be much better off.

Walk or bicycle, self-propel, whenever and wherever you can. You will benefit yourself with the exercise. It will make you healthier: physically, mentally, emotionally.

Eat proper food, especially vegetables. "Proper food" excludes "processed food product".

Commercially processed food consumes excessive energy and is less healthy because many vitamins and taste quality are destroyed. People who eat "satisfying" food eat less and feel better.

Meat production is particularly resource extravagant. Eat meat, it's good for you, but eat no more than you need.

Being healthier and stronger, more vital as a human being, improves our abilities for sustainable development.

Encourage others. We've got to change our culture.

    Nice question.

  2. BIG HUGE topic!

however, in a nutshell - here are the keys for sustainable development:

    - more use of alternative (renewable) energy - solar power, wind power, geothermal energy, etc etc .....

    - less use of cars, more use of bicycles, public transit, walking shoes...

    - sustainable land development - grow your own food...

*do things that mother nature would not mind replenishing/recreating for you!

and goes on and on and on......

and, doing all this while making sure that the social and economic aspects of the community/neighborhood are being readily met!

hope this helps... if not, check out this wiki article:

  3. By spelling development correctly, one e less is used everytime it is written. This e can be reused and recycled in other messages that are written, thus lessening the amount of hot air used and reducing the greenhouse effect.
