  1. Start with proofreading your questions you post here. Then start a blog.

  2. If you really want to be a journalist the first thing you do is never give up your pursuit of journalism. Start right now on learning everything you can about journalism (the good and the bad). Remember to learn something everyday. Did you know that Peter Jinnings never finished college but he became ABC news anchor. He passed away a few years ago. If you don't remember him ask your parents.

  3. Go to your local news station thats what i do

  4. start blogging

  5. Start a school newspaper!  Ask an English teacher if she will be the faculty sponsor and ask the librarian if he will let you put a stack of them in the library when they come out. Try for twice a month, front and back of one page for starters.

  6. Hey! I'm a sophomore journalism major (college).

Does your school offer journalism electives? Can you maybe collaborate with the English department in your school to get a newspaper going? Are there any writing classes or writing camps offered in your area that you can attend over the summer [really look into that, because you never know what you'll find!]?

Meanwhile, just keep honing your writing skills, pay attention to the world around you and write, write, write! And definitely start a blog...maybe one where you could discuss world events, what's going on in your own life, daily musings, etc!
