How can a 14 year old get started on babysitting?

I'm fourteen and basically the only job I can do is babysit,and I'm not a big fan of putting flyer's up seeing as I don't want people knowing my number.I do plan on taking a first aid course and parenting course and stuff like that,but before I spend money on the courses I want too know how I can get started after I take the courses?

If you don't want to go door to door, ask people around where you live. Or you could ask your parents if they have any younger kids that you could babysit. That way your parents won't be too worried about it. Or you could see if you have any cousins near by

You can either start by talking to people you know (neighhbors, friends, family, etc.) and see if they know anyone in need of a babysitter or you can put up a flyer with your number on little tabs at the bottom of the paper (best place to put it up is in a daycare, ymca, or places where people with children go often).

well usually after you pass the babysitting course, they'll put your name and number on a list for people looking around for a babysitter. thats pretty much the only way without giving out your number to random strangers.

You can also try working at chick-fil-a or ice cream places most of them hire at 13 or 14...i mean if the baby sitting thing doesnt work!

Do like cousins. And your next door neighbors.

Then get them to spread the word.

Or even volunteer at a church. If the kids like you they will want to have you babysit.

i would go ahead and take the courses, and as lame as it is, maybe put up some fliers, and make sure you advertise the fact that you took the courses. that might make all the difference to a parent looking for help. there are a few places online to advertise, maybe craigslist.com, in your area, but have a parent help you post your information. craigslist.com can be a little awkward at times.

well ask around your neighborhood see who has kids, ask your friends parents, things like that. maybe have your parents ask around at work with their co workers and things like that. its great you are taking classes and everything that will really help out alot. hope this helps

well u can put ur home number on the fliers. and u shud put that u took the courses. and your age. and ppl will call.

maybe u can put an add in the local newpaper
