  1. Why would anyone want to leave the US to live in Toronto with it's decay and crumbling infrastructure?  Why not live in a good place?

  2. legally most likely no way unless you already have a close blood relitive here or someone who MUST look after you, for family reunification.  Illegally there should be no probs, pay your rent or property taxes and you are good to go BUT you won't be able to get a health card and you won't be able to use any of the Canadian social services.

Sorry for putting a damper on your plan we went through this a few years back trying to get a cusion from the old country in and he was too old and not infirm.

  3. Her is a link to Citizenship and Immigration

I think you can even visit, as a tourist, for a number of months as sort of a scout mission, unless you have made your decision already.

Toronto is a generous city with a very diverse ethnic 'melting pot' society. I was born in T.O., as we call it, but have since moved to British Columbia for a bit o' nature.

    good luck

  4. Have a younger relative move there first and sponsor you.

Being over fifty loses you a ton of points when you apply to immigrate to Canada.  If you have tons on money it would make things easier.

  5. apply for Canadian citizenship? or maybe a working visa? student visa [if u are a student]

  6. Dangerman is correct. Unlike the US, Canada has a very restrictive immigration policy. You won't be able to get a PR card because of your age. Canada has very liberal social services and they restrict immigration because of this. It would be the same if you were 21 and had diabetes.
