Question:

How can a Us citizen get married in Italy?

I m italian and i m married with an american.

Soon we ll go in Italy and we want to get married only in a catholic church because we did not do it in Us.

Does anybody know how this works?

  1. here is what you will need :

    RELIGIOUS CEREMONIES: If a religious ceremony is performed by a Roman Catholic priest, a separate civil ceremony is unnecessary but the priest must register the marriage with the Ufficiale di Stato Civile in order for it to be legal. Because of the special Italian requirements applicable to marriage performed by non-Roman Catholic clergymen, the latter usually insist on a prior civil ceremony before performing a religious ceremony in order to ensure the legality of the marriage.

  4. Cause you are married already officialy and just asking for the cercemony in church there is only one thing to do. Just pick out a church and make an appointment with the priest showing him your marriage certificate. That's all.
