  1. why is it so hard, especially when you consider how much you get in the UK, free housing, medical care, money, care homes, 30 days paid holiday, a fair wack of money if you cannot work because of injury, pretty much everything not saying it's a good thing or better than america's attitude but if you want to go to the usa there must be a reason like you have something to offer them and that country + the fact you want to be an american and be proud of it. when i was last in america it was full of mexicans i was is walmart and no kidding about 30% of the people were speaking spanish and they all looked poor, how come they can move there but not an englishman who wants to contribute and be proud to be an american citizen CRAZY STUFF!!!

Just to add i wasn't meaning to be dis respectful to mexicans but my god there was so many there no way did they all have 1 million in the bank.

  2. 1) Marriage to a US citizen and subsequent adjustment of status (K class Visa)

    2) Sponsorship by an immediate relative who is a US citizen (IR/CR visa)

    3) Sponsorship by an immediate relative who is a Lawful Permanent Resident (IR/CR visa_

    4) Internal company transfer from the UK to the US (L1 dual intent visa)

    5) You own or buy business as a national of a qualifying Treaty country (E2 visa)

    6) An investor with at least $1million in assets (EB5 visa)

    7) Assist US law enforcement to investigate and prosecute crimes and terrorist activities such as money laundering and organized crime. (S visa)

    8) Get a member of Congress to sponsor a private bill with legislation that applies just to you.

Those are also listed in the order of how likely they are to happen.

British citizens are not eligible for the Diversity Visa Lottery, so I didn't include it in the list.

  3. I think Knight forgot the green card lottery in his list but he's got it right essentially :)

  4. To answer eddy's question, many UK residents want to leave the UK due to the lack of decent social housing (many of the housing estates are ghettoes), rising crime (and lack of any measures to cope with it), rising costs of EVERYTHING (food, fuel, bills), lack of quality of life (I used to get 3 weeks holiday a year if I was lucky), poor healthcare, poor education for our children, c**p weather, the wide (and widening) gulf between the rich and poor, lack of opportunity to progress at work or in your chosen career (unless you happen to be a "friend-of-a-friend), rotten attitude of so many of our citizens towards our fellow people, benefit payments to people who don't deserve them (and percieved injustices)...when did the UK start going down the toilet??

I don't regret emigrating, and I won't be going back!
