  1. depend on the size and the place you´re maybe you couldn´t find there the pieces you might need, the easier are a big quantity of brown wrapping paper (the same supermarket bags) ask on a bakery if you could get the wrapping paper where flour come or could use a big brown blanket, we do it this way :p little plastic animals, you could find them here on piñata´s store, for trees can hide small plant pots between fake grass (made by coloring ripped newspaper or the mope used to polish cars, please don't use plants that hang from certain of trees, etc, it ruin the ecosystem :( for rivers, aluminum paper or just mirrors the houses, stars, etc you can make them with your kids painting boxes of different sizes and of course the Holly Family and the animals, ask in stores where you buy these, if they have the Shepperd and the Wisemen, etc It´s a lovely still alive tradition that we should not let it die!!! well remember it´s JesusChrist´s Birth and we should remember this instead of other characters that have nothing to do with this beautiful Holiday! good luck!

  2. Um, lets see... it's been a couple of years since I've done one and I always simply watched and didn't help much hehe but... my mom used to stack some shoe boxes around so make the shape of a mountain... make sure to tape them together to give them more stability. Then fill in the spaces in between the boxes with newspaper to give it more stability and the feel of a mountain... then my mom used to grab brown paper bags... not sure if they have it in all the countries... but she used to dip it in I think starch... not sure....

Then you put this wet paper on top of the 'mountain' giving it the brown look... then you just have to wait for it to dry and add the plastic figures. We used mirrors for lakes, and cotton for river... a couple of years back we taped some dark blue paper on the wal and drew a starry night :) hope this helps!
