How can a car be "boring to drive"?

Question

im looking to buy either a corolla 09 or a civic 08...

and most ppl i ask say get the civic cuz its more "fun to drive'

can anyone tell me exactly wat that means?? i mean all u do to drive a car is step on the acc and steer -.-

how can one be more "fun" than the other ..just wondering

i drove both corolla and a hond.

hoda is much better. corolla  will save u money on gas but after a while the smoothnes off the car goes away.

i mean srsly its an aweosme car n its fun to dirve cuz ur gonna same money on gas.

hond dosent give u that many miles. its close though.

its a lil better. i would say go for a honda.

Some cars are designed to drive you - Soft suspension, soft steering, and so quiet you can't hear the outside world.

Some cars are designed for you to drive them - More feedback from the outside world. You can feel the road a bit more. The steering is a bit tighter. The car is a bit stiffer. The car handles better.

Some cars...take a grandma car like a LeSaber. It drives just fine. It will get you to the store just like any other car but it is a soft and quiet ride. If you want to push the car a bit you get nothing more out of it...it goes faster yes but it is still quiet and soft.

Different cars are marketed to different people.

I tend to like cars that ride harder and I can hear the engine. I like to know whats going on.

The corolla is not a LeSaber by any means but it is closer to the boring end of the scale.

The civic is by no means a perfect example of a "drivers car" but it is higher on the scale then the corolla.

Just like a go-kart and a pirate ship are more or less fun to drive. The same as a Ford Taurus and a Ferrari F430.

Handling, acceleration, balance, center of gravity, how much deadening is between you and the road is the biggest thing...

The more lighter the weight, stiffer suspension and closer to the ground the more like a race car or sportsbike it is....

Fun to drive usually involves a lot of feedback or road feel through the steering wheel, telling you exactly where your car is in relation to the road.  Also, cars that handle better, generate more g forces around a turn, which in itself is exhilarating.  Cars with more pep also give you some G's when you stomp on the pedal.

You have to drive a boring car and a fun car to really feel the difference, just us telling you won't really answer your question.

Here's a great way to figure it out, go test drive a Lexus, stomp on the gas, make some good turns, as soon as your done, go drive the comparably priced BMW, you'll immediately feel what a fun car is like.

You have a lot to learn about driving, driving to drain you in no time flat.

Most people think you just jump in and step on the gas and go, what about the other people out there not looking where their going or how fast.

Have you ever asked you self how can they be all those car crashes everyday? That’s because most people think like you jut get in and go I'm a great driver about you have to worry about all those other people behind you or next to you.

If you want to really know how to become a better drive ask someone that has his or her CDL to talk you about drive and driving safe.

As long as your getting a car that's newer than 2000 you'll enjoy driving it no matter what. Its when you have a geo metro, you find walking more fun than driving.
