want to know if a certain company had insurance back in 1970. The company has no records from that time. I checked with the California Dept of Insurance and they dont keep records of companies' policies. Absent cold calling every insurance company doing business in CA in the 70s, can anyone suggest an intellgent way to go about this? By the way, the president of the company wants to do this, so please no answers telling me it's private information. The company is the one who wants to know if it had a policy in force back in the 70s but it doesnt have records going back that far.

  1. They just can, they have clearing houses in there for that reason

  2. If the company doesn't have it's own records, it's probably SOL.
