How can a foreigner like me get a teaching license in Ontario Canada?

I am from the Philippines, a graduate of BA Theater Arts with minor subjects on Speech Communication. I am a licensed English teacher in my country who is interested of moving and teaching in Ontario, Canada. How can I get teaching credentials or teaching license for Ontario, Canada? What are the requirements? How do I go about it?

  1. I would contact the Ontario College of Teachers - they'll probably have specific information.  You will need a BEd, if you don't have that degree as well as your BA/BFA, your first step would probably be to apply to the faculty of education (most Ontario universities have one) of your choice and go from there.  You're probably looking at starting in September '09 at the earliest, since most of the universities accept applications in the winter/spring for the following fall.  

    BEd programs are historically quite competitive, so good luck!
