    This is assuming that the city you live in allows golf carts at all.  Most places there isn't anything you can do to your cart to make it street legal, as they just aren't allowed on the street at all.

    Look around the streets.  Do you see anybody driving around in a golf cart?  No. Because they cannot be made legal - and you are not the first person to try.

  5. In some communities they are legal, with restrictions. Many senior developments allow them. They are also allowed on Catalina Island (in CA).

  6. It has to be registered, get a license plate, and pass state inspection, and obtain insurance coverage.  Can't wait to see the look on your agent's face when you tell 'im what you want to do.

    you'll have to see your state laws on what kinds of vehicles they'll register and what all it takes to pass inspection.
