  1. yuck & yes

well..if I were a gynecologist and pamela anderson, carmen electra, and angelina were to come to my office, back to back to back.

I would tell my rn to hold all my calls, tell my wife that I will be coming home super late, and wear a special condom with a superman cape.

    on the other hand

if Sally from the Alley, Freddie Kruegar's Mom, and some psycho crazy bearded lady who hasn't token a bath nor shaved in about a month.

then Yuck! I would curse like a sailor, cry, and admit myself to a psych ward

  2. Believe me, I'm glad we have doctors who specialize in female anatomy and female medical issues.  In most fields, doctors tend to go the extra step to determine the causes of men's issues, but don't seem to put for the same effort for women.  And I can guarantee that I would much rather have a doctor poking around my v****a if it will ensure that I remain healthy.  I am grateful for my gynecologist.

  3. Beats the heck out of being a proctologist.

  4. I've wondered the same thing.  Even worse is a proctologist!

  5. They like to help women or possibly they are interested by the field

  6. Idk , they get used to it?

  7. You can get at the office what you can't get at home, LOL.

  8. I had a conversation with a friend who was OB_Gyn once. I asked him, if this work is so difficult and unrewarding, how do you stay with it?

He reached over and touched a baby that was in the room. He said, "Every once in awhile you get to deliver one of these beautiful people."

The thing about doing a tough job is that there is really less competition because, who wants to do a tough job?

If your motivation as a physician is to  heal people and save lives, then women are better patients. Men have male pattern stupidity. They will put off seeing a doctor for years, and then it's too late. women pay more attention to their bodies, and they are better at sticking with medical advice. The fact that you are dealing primarily with human plumbing  all day long, well, if you don't have a problem, I don't have a job.

  9. In a lot of departments, gynecology is combined with obstetrics, so I think some people probably go into ob/gyn and put up with the gynecology part so that they can work with childbirth.  Also, there's a definite need for gynecologists in any community with women, and some people take community needs into account when choosing their career.  It's also possible (believe it or not) to get used to dealing with peoples' bits and to deal with it as being no different than checking their mouths or anything like that.  I'm sure it takes some getting used to - I visited one resident (brand-new doctor) who seemed really embarrassed by the whole experience - but I'm glad that people are willing to do it.

  10. $$$$$$$$$ =)
