How can a ouija board be dangerous?

i don't understand how a ouija board can be associated with satan and demons when it was invented a while back by a regular man. can someone please help me figure this all out. i've messed with ouija boards for a while now, but i was wondering if i should stop. any suggestions?

This is really a question of perspective. Here's what I mean:

Of course the Ouija board is real. It is detectable by all 5 senses.

But if the real question is, does it have any supernatural powers, the answer is almost always, no.

The vast majority of "supernatural" experiences with the Ouija board occur in groups of people- usually three or more. The actual dynamics of what happens quite common.

Think of what happens when a large fight breaks out. Afterward, nobody can remember who started it. Or at least, there are many different accounts of what happened. Even if the fight only lasted a few seconds.

In principle, this is what is happening with the Ouija board. Everyone is adding input into a system expecting it to move. When it does move, it may not move in the direction anyone expects because the ultimate expression of that motion is the sum of all the input. Thus, every person playing may actually believe he/she is not actually causing the pointer to move. It can truly seem to have a 'life of its own'!

But in reality, it is simply a toy that plays upon simple group dynamics for its entertainment value. That is what has made it such a popular object for so long- the fact that it is rooted in simplicity.

Encounters with these sorts of toys can produce all kinds of emotion. Adding a spooky atmosphere and music can heighten these effects. It can even be fun at times. But it's like a magic trick. Often times, these sorts of things are more fun when we don't understand how they work- because then, they can still capture our imaginations.

As a side note, you should know that there are many people who believe that the Ouija board is a conduit for supernatural and even evil forces. Many hold fast to this belief, even in the face of evidence to the contrary.

To this, I can only say that if there truly are evil forces out there determined to do us harm, I think they'd have better means of attacking us than through a child's toy. And- if by some crazy chance that I am wrong, then I still don't think that I would be very scared of any evil force whose power was limited to a board game.

I highly suggest you stop. My theology teacher at school has dealt with situations where people had connected with demons; they were able to enter their lives and negatively affect their daily routines. Yes, a regular man invented it, but he only took the idea from a old tool that was very similar used in ancient times to contact the World beyond.

I have never taken part in an ouija board, but I have heard things regarding them. I just wouldn't take the chance with something like that. Regardless if you believe in ghosts or demons or spirits, they exist and they can enter your life through a vulnerable situation like an ouija board.

the ouija board was used as a tool to communicate with the world beyond kinda like the tarot cards to read the future.and remember back then anything that seemed fun was considered evil so ouija boards got a bad reputation. also, since ouija boards were sometimes used to predict the future, they were banned as evil objects by some people because they gave the people who played with them, power to change the course of life, and well you know people of a certain nature attract people similar to them. example greedy people attract greedy people and they look for a win win situation. But hey if you want to keep playing go ahead just remember, you contact anyone.

A ouija board is not dangerous.  Play the game if you want.  Nothing bad will happen.  The ouija board is just a game that you can buy in most toy stores and department stores, an ordinary piece of wood or plastic or cardboard.  It is meant for two or more players so it will not work very well if you try to use it alone.  It has no supernatural powers.  It does not communicate with the dead and it does not contact spirits.  It does not open any portals to the underworld or to anywhere else.  The people using the ouija board make it work through ideomotor movement.  It plays on your mind and imagination and your susceptibilities and beliefs and fears.  It can be scary because the imagination is a powerful thing, and can make you believe just about anything.  Here are a couple of links that discuss ouija boards and how to use them.

I used one once. It was in a graveyard in the middle of winter. It was so cold we couldn't eve sit on the ground for very long. We didn't get very far into it though; every few seconds a member of our group would burst out laughing. She did that a lot. I don't know why she couldn't keep a straight face but maybe it was for the best.

People have just talked about contacting evil spirits and bringing them into our "realm." Naturally that wouldn't end with happiness and sunshine. Other people contact spirits but don't count on doing so until it's too late, they freak out and lose all control. Critics warn that "evil demons" pretend to be cooperative ghosts in order to trick players into becoming spiritually possessed.

"A few paranormal researchers, such as John Zaffis, claim that the majority of the worst cases of so-called demon harassment and possession are caused by the use of Ouija boards. The American demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren, stated that "Ouija boards are just as dangerous as drugs."[7] They further state that "séances and Ouija boards and other occult paraphernalia are dangerous because 'evil spirits' often disguise themselves as your loved ones—and take over your life. Many Christians hold the belief that using a Ouija board allows communication with demons, which they say is Biblically forbidden as a form of divination."

Personally I stopped. I do believe in certain things and I don't wanna muck anything up. I still go to graveyards but leave the Ouija board at home. I wonder what the resident's of the cemetery think when they see a group of kids with a board. I'd rather not offend them.

you better leave those boards alone.if you get a bad bad demon you will have bad trouble stay away from them i know what i am talking about
