How can a pharmacist (relative) help me to be a pharmacy technician ?

, can they do anything to help me to become a pharmacy technician? like take me in as their assistant or something like that

and is this job a hands-on training job (i'm pursuing to become a pharmacist)

my grandpa helped me get a job as a pharmacy technician. he got me a spot as a volunteer in his pharmacy. volunteering is the best way to get free experience.

When I worked at Walgreens, they had pharmacy technicians. I think there was training upfront and during. Check for openings for pharmacy technicians in any of the big chains-Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid. You can do so on their websites; and to get an idea of requirements, don't limit your search to your area. After you get an idea of requirements, you can then search in your area if it's a good match for you.

A lot of what you do as a pharmact technician is "hands on."  If you have a relative who will allow you to work in their store you can learn a lot.  I still recommend you purchase a pharm tech study guide (such as the one from Mosby's) and complete a certificate course.  Finally, you should take the PTCB (ptcb.org) exam for national certification.  This will open up more opportunities for you and make you a better candidate.  And the training as a pharm tech will help you as a pharmacy student, but it's just he tip of the iceberg.
