  1. Sending letters does not constitute harassment since you are able to simply throw them away w/o reading them. If this turns into annoying phone calls or some type of threats made to yourself or others, then you may have a case. In the event that you do, you would have to contact the Police department in which the crimes are being committed in order to be able to prosecute. If this crosses State boundaries, it can turn into a Federal case. You may want to let the other party know that you do not appreciate the letters first though.

  2. Press charges for what?

    Sending a letter?

    Making a phone call?

Sorry, but somebody has to actually do something illegal before charges can be brought against them. Even then, it is their local District attorney that brings the charges.

  3. If she continues to make threatening, annoying, stalking, harassing, etc. telephone calls or letters, contact your local police agency and file a report, as this conduct is illegal.  Keep the letters and save any phone messages.

  4. Men are responsible for the children that they father.  It does not matter if they get along with the mother or not. She can go after him for support even from a different state

"The fact that you and the alleged father live in different States will not keep you from pursuing a paternity establishment action. Your State may be able to claim jurisdiction and establish paternity if the alleged father had lived there or the child was conceived in your State. Otherwise your State can petition the other State to establish paternity under their laws. Often, genetic tests will be ordered to help prove paternity. Ask your caseworker for specific information about the laws in your State and the State where the other parent lives."
