How can a psychologist be Licensed when they only have a masters?

a psychologist is different than a psychiatrist. a psychiatrist is a medical doctor. psychologists cannot prescribe medication.

Psychiatrists need a medical degree not a doctorate.

Psychologist is a vague term and can be applied to people with social work degrees as well as a broad spectrum of counseling and psychology degrees.  Insurance will only reimburse typically for PhD level clinical psychologists and Licensed Masters in Social Work degrees.  All others are not well regarded.  The whole field is not super scientific.
