Question:

How can a scientist say when a person has an afterlife experience and comes backto life a hullucination?

They can't have a hullicination while they are dead! Their brain isn't active. It is not logical for the brain to keep on working or any part of the body once they are dead!

  1. Well, obviously, they were not dead.

So, Queen your argument from ignorance; that science can not explain some things, is evidence for what?!?!

  2. These "scientists" need to work on a code team in a hospital.

We have seen things that cannot be explained by science.

  3. "Dead" means your heart stopped beating.  Your brain can stay somewhat active and produce HALLUCINATIONS for anywhere  from 3 to 10 minutes in that time.

  4. I agree with Queen of the Universe

    8 years ER experience.

  5. Afterlife experience can not be proven scientifically. It can just be believed.

The only partial statement may be that a scientist can agree that a person appeared to be dead - albeit woke up later.  The experience of the person itself can, as said, just be believed or not

If you want to believe - and some people professionally do so - you could claim that you cannot measure this special experience and that therefore the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence.

  6. Sometimes the brain does continue to fire, even when the heart has stopped beating. Many of the 'experiences' that people claim to have had while dead, mimic symptoms the body shows when deprived of oxygen and blood, and when the brain synapses stop firing. I'm no expert on the subject, and I'm not saying I do or I don't believe, but think that people need to have more information before they can make a definitive decision one way or the other.

  7. How do you know?

Just because the heart has stopped beating doesnt mean the brain is instantly shut off.  A person is considered "dead" when their heart stops, because after that they are usually screwed.  The heart just pumps blood around though.  The brain could still possibly function for a short while.

  8. No one has ever come back after cessation of brain activity.

  9. There weren't dead.  No one has come back after being brain dead.  These people were hallucinating, and we know this because people in no danger of dying have had near death experiences.  It happens to about 17% of test pilots during high-g testing.  No danger of dying, but the exact same hallucinations - bright lights, tunnels, dead relatives, out-of-body experiences, etc.

  10. No one has died and come back.  You can have your heart stopped and be brought back but you never lost your brain activity altogether.  A "near death experience" is actually just a vivid dream, much like the ones you have when you pass out.
