  1. Just give the assignments and dont be a d**k about it.

The manner in which you present yourself is most important.  You cant act like their best buddy, they will resent you for that.  You cant act like the big-boss-jerk-as*hole either, they will hate you for that.  If you treat people like human beings - with respect and dignity - than they will treat you likewise.  The employees know that they have jobs to do, and that you are the one to delegate those tasks.  Dont micro-manage, dont be completely hands off.  Make your expectations clear and follow up.  You'll do fine.

  2. yes, but it becomes hard. because i was almost best friends with my supervisor, but then i found out that i would help her out with things i didnt even have to do but she wouldnt defend me when the manager would ask whos doing a good job. friendship and business should be kept to separate things. it never works out. believe me , i dont even talk to this girl anymore. my job became a h**l hole.

  3. sure

  4. It's not that difficult.  You can supervise AND be friends.  Draw the line at them having too much personal info about you.  It's probably best to be friends with your employees, they WANT to do assignments then so as not to let down their buddy - though some WILL take advantage.  You'll see which are which.
