  1. I am not a nurse, I am a physician and the process for a doctor is complicated in every state of the USA. We need to contact the medical board in the state that we are planning to practice.

In the case of nurse, I guess they also need to contact the licensing  authority  in the state that they want to practice and ask those questions, but it seems that requires passing tests and verification of credentials.

I found  websites, that have some information about helping nurses from other countries to get their licenses in the USA.

You can apply for yourself but also you can hire licensing companies and attorneys specialized on those professional issues  that can help you with the application process. If I were from another country, I will hire a company or a lawyer specialized on those because there is more guarantee that the paperwork is correct.  As per I told you, I am a physician and I heard that the Florida Medical Board is very very very picky and any mistake in the application they are going to make you go to Florida, to the Board,  to explain the mistake and then they give you a fee, so I was told to expect trips if you apply in Florida. So, that is why the application has to be filled carefully. Maybe, is the same for nurses. I also heard that Florida is one of the states that makes it very difficult to apply because everybody wants to go to Florida, so imagine.

You can look on the internet about the licensing process n Florida and check your options. The websites that I found are examples on the credentials that they ask, but again you need to talk with somebody specialized in that specific state  licensing authority.

    Good luck.
