  1. Your UK visa status is not relevant to France. The important question is what country's passport do you hold? If you need to have a visa to study in the UK, it likely that you will need a visa to travel to the Schengen Zone (including France) - check with this site --> http://skyteam.com/EN/travelPlanner/tima... <-- which will tell you what you need to enter France. If you need a Schengen visa, contact your nearest French Consulate.

  2. Hi,

so, you are a citizen from another country and you have a UK student visa for a certain time.

you will firstly have to call the french embassy and make sure the amount of time you have on your student visa is long enough to be valid for applying for a french visa

then double check with the french embassy that the amount of months/years on your passport is atleast the minimum time allowable for a stay in france.

and finally that your country has a relationship with france.  If your country is within the European union than it will be much esier to obtain entry to france than you were for example from india or south africa: if you are from the later 2 countries then you will need a schengen visa and  specific application and a specific photo critera.

to find out if you country is under the schengen agreement, visit www.theschengenoffice.com
