How can a violin teacher find new students? ?

Hello my name is Emily Gamel and I live in Overland Park, Kansas. I am a 16 year old violinist looking for students! I have a lot of orchestra and chamber music experience, have been in the All-State orchestra, am taking a college class on violin performance/chamber music at Mid American Nazarene University, and I have teaching experience. I would love to teach any young students willing to learn! Any suggestions on how to find students? Or..if you have any students available, please feel free to contact me :)

Thank you.

  1. Make a lot of posters and hang them in your local music stores, and even on campus.

  2. At local stores, ask if you can put up an "ad" on a bulletin board or door so people can see it and then let you know if they need a teacher. put your picture, contact info, and any other information on the paper so people know as much as they need to. good luck!

  3. Steps:

    1. Decide on an age group like 10-13 or something

    2. Put up fliers at public places like elementary schools

    3. Email any school orchestra teachers in your area asking if any violinists need extra help or supplemental lessons

    4. Tell friends family and anyone the grapevine can be helpful!

  4. I would try going to local instrument rental shops and put up posters go to schools and ask to speak with classes who are interested

  5. advertise on neighborhood newsletters or put flyers up =D

    good luck

  6. You should put up some adds

And also since some kids like the "hard core" instuments like guitar you can show them how a violin sounds like with some amp.

I think they will be interested cuz its different but it sounds super cool

  7. You can advertise.

Such as make posters, and ads, and put them up at local parks, schools, shops/stores, ect [or even in the newspaper].

You will be sure to get atleast a couple of students. [:

Make sure to put in all details needed and details you feel are needed.

You can also pass out flyers at your nearby/local school, after school or before school to students, or ask the music teachers to pass them out for you.

You have other options aswell, you just have to be creative. :D

    Good luck and all!

  8. Post flyers at the local schools for kids just starting with the violin.  Talk to the music teachers at those schools.  Post an ad in local church bulletins.

  9. Add another string to your bow.Only a little joke, almost. Actually I don't like the violin. I think it is the revenge exacted by the intestines of a dead cat. I don't know whether or not I can play the violin, I've never tried.
