How can an air compressor be used as a pressure washer?

Apologies that this has been asked before (need & would much appreciate more detail).

The "Best Answer" was that apparently filling a sandblaster with water works wonderfully.

Has anybody else done this?

Do you know What specs of of air compressor you need? Mine is 2HP/150psi 2.6SCFM @ 90 psi, 6 gallon. If powerful enough, what sandblaster would you recommend?

(A website that confirms compatibility would be super). I have searched the web without luck.

It makes no sense to do this for all you can use on the compressor is the wheels and the frame... A pressure washer uses NO AIR AT ALL , it is all hydraulic pressure and not air pressure..the pump on a pressure washer has hydraulic cylinders in it that use hydraulic fluid. and forces the water out by pressure not air..All you would get trying to use a air compressor is no more than a cup paint sprayer would do...A sandblaster will not work either..it is air assist and not hydraulic

It might 'sort-of' work..  but you'll be disappointed with the results.  

An air compressor is an air compressor, a pressure washer is a pressure washer.  They are two different animals entirely.

Save yourself a lot of time & trouble, if you go out & buy the cheapest wal-mart electric pressure washer that they have, it will be a thousand times better than what you are trying to rig up.  I think you're looking at around $70 or so.

That compressor you have wouldn't be powerful enough for the tiniest of sandblasters, anyway.  They take a LOT of air, far more than your little consumer unit can deliver.

Ingenuity is great, and I love seeing people thinking out of the box.  Kudos to you for that, but on this one, there is no substitute for the real thing.  Sorry!
