Hi...

I'm an italian student...in September I will attend the 3rd year of scientific high-school. I've attended an english primary school in Rome and in 2years time I will get a English Language Proficiency Certificate.

I'd love to attend Harvard's Law School..How many foreign students does harvard usually admitt? which are the requirments in order to be admitted? what should I do in order to get a scholarship ? does speaking many languages help a little?

thanks

  1. Yes, you need four-year university degree accepted by Harvard, with absolutely top grades and above 95% proficiency on the LSAT exam.  Thousands of people apply to Harvard Law, including foreign students, and the acceptance ratio is very low.  There are many good law schools in the US that one can attend after getting a bachelors degree.  Few offer scholarships to foreign students, but there are programs in Italy that offer scholarships to graduate school, and you can try for a Fullbright scholarship.

  2. It makes no sense for a foreigner to attend Harvard Law School. You would be learning US law which would not do you much good in Italy. Going to school in the US does not allow you to stay in the US after graduating and chances of doing so are not good.

If you want to attend Harvard for college, sure, many Italians and kids from all over the world attend. They are mostly wealthy because the cost is so much more than most European colleges. To be admitted you would need to be truly an exceptional student in your Country--top grades and top SAT scores. You would need to stand out in a big way in some activity outside of the classroom--Olympic athlete, noted musician or artist, raised millions to fight AIDS. Look around you and if you are not the student with the highest grades, best scores and most impressive resume, Harvard will be hard. As for scholarships, they probably give serious money to 2 kids from Italy each year, you would have to be at the top of the thousand that apply.

  3. In order to apply to Harvard Law School, you need a 4-year college degree.  So you've still got a ways to go.  Look up their website for the rest of the info.
