How can an unsubscribed member re-subscribe? the unsubscribed e-mail address seems to be blocked?

a member who unsubscribed for my group now wishes to re-join, but seems to be blocked. what can I or she do?

go to member list- at the top look for 'Moderators  | Bouncing  | Pending  | Banned' click the banned and be sure they're not in there for some odd reason

if that's not the case, what specific error does it say when this member attempts to rejoin?
