How can any fan think the Cardinals and Brewers have a good enough team for the playoffs but the Cubs don't?

I'm not handing the Cubs the division by any means, nor am I sayin the Cardinals and Brewers suck. In my eyes the Cubs, Cardinals and Brewers are all deserving of a playoff spot. I'm just wondering why those 2 teams are deserving of a playoff spot and the Cubs aren't. I understand if you don't like the team and just don't want to see them in it, but you can't deny they have a solid team and are very capable of winning the division. I mean of course I would love to see the Brewers and Cardinals both miss the postseason, but I'm not denying at all that both teams have a good ballclub and are very capable of winning the division as well.

  1. any team can win on any given day

doesnt depend only on how good the roster is overall cause guys have hot streaks and cold streaks all the time, doesnt matter who they are.

  2. I was wondering that

has Y!A baseball section lost its mind!

    im meaen really!

    they are leading the divison

give them some d**n respect, they deserve it!

  3. The cubs are deserving and it looks like another winning streak should seal the deal.

I know, it is absurd. they deserve to win it ,

    BUT........

    GO BREWERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are my final predictions for the central:

    1. cubs(93-69)

    2. BREWERS BABY!!!!!!!(88-74, 5 games back)

    3. cardinals (AWWW>> losers!)(85-77, 8 games back)

  4. well i cant speak for the brewers, but the fact that the cardinals have won a few championships in 100 years might qualify them as a bigger threat in the postseason than the cubs. And for the past few years, the cubs have had a big injury that has cost them(Derek Lee). If the cubs pitching stays strong they prob have the NL locked up.

  5. As a Brewer fan, I would love to see the Cubs do a complete flop like the Brewers did last year and miss the playoffs. But they are a very well built team with good pitching and a great offense. But with the way all 3 teams are playing, its too hard to tell who will be the odd one out.

And if people are picking the Cubs to be the team that misses the playoffs, well thats their opinion- whether it be a smart one or not. Imagine how all the Cardinal fans feel. Ever since the Brew Crew got CC and the Cubs got Harden, everyone(by that I mean ESPN) has completely forgotten about them.

  6. Other than their big lead deteriorating over the past month, there is no reason to consider the Cub's out of it until they're lead is gone.--Scratch-- Until they're mathematically eliminated from contention.

EDIT: Really? I thought it got as ugly as 7 or 8. I must've been mistaken.

  7. Well now, the Cubs need to prove they can beat the Brewers which they haven't done this season yet.  Even all 6 games were in Wrigley and Brewers won both series'.  Cubs also have a difficult time on the road.

  8. Thats why its up to the teams to earn the playoff spot, fans can say their team is better all they want, but in the end, the best team will be going. It will be a good race, Cards need bullpen help, so do the Brewers, and the Cubs need to win on the road. If they can overcome these weaknesses anyone of them can go deep in the playoffs.

  9. I wouldn't say the Cubs dint have a good enough team to make playoffs. I will admit I am a huge Brewer fan, and the Cubs are the Brewers biggest rival, but you must look at the Cubs history. They always find ways to choke in the spotlight. That could be their downfall. But whatever happens, its gonna be a fun and exciting next few months of baseball for the NL central.
