  1. You might as well ask Who can beleive in sunset when most scientists say it is not caused by man?  It doesn't matter WHY global warming is taking place for you to beleive it is real.

  2. I bet you don't even know how many scientist there are let alone the opinion of each one.

  3. who are these "most scientists" everyone at NASA says it's man made and they have all the data and satellite imagery to back up there claim

  4. I don't. Did you know that, in one year,  more CO2 is produced by dying leaves than cars.

  5. In what world is less than 1% 'most'?

You almost ask a good question though.  How can anyone believe humans aren't causing global warming when most scientists say we are?

  6. Scientist Implicates Worms in Global Warming

Jim Frederickson, the research director at the Composting Association has called for data on worms and composting to be re-examined after a German study found that worms produce greenhouse gases 290 times more potent than carbon dioxide.

Worms are being used commercially to compost organic material and is in preference to putting it into the landfill. The German government wants 45% of all waste to be composted by 2015.

"Everybody... thinks they can do no harm but they contribute to global warming. People are looking into alternative waste treatments but we have to make sure that we are not jumping from the frying pan into the fire," said Frederickson.

  7. What are you talking about?  These major scientific organizations say that global warming is occurring and caused by man:

NASA’s Goddard Institute of Space Studies (GISS)

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)

    National Academy of Sciences (NAS)

State of the Canadian Cryosphere (SOCC)

    Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

Royal Society of the United Kingdom (RS)

    American Geophysical Union (AGU)

    American Institute of Physics (AIP)

National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR)

    American Meteorological Society (AMS)

Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (CMOS)

    Academia Brasiliera de Ciências (Bazil)

    Royal Society of Canada

    Chinese Academy of Sciences

    Academié des Sciences (France)

Deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina (Germany)

    Indian National Science Academy

    Accademia dei Lincei (Italy)

    Academy of Sciences Malaysia

Academy Council of the Royal Society of New Zealand

    Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences

The AGU alone has 50,000 members.

Who misled you to believe that many scientists say it's not caused by man, or did you just make that up yourself?

  8. People put scientists on an irvory tower.  Being a geologist, I understand that many scientists have a very focused knowledge.  The utter ignorance of some of the previous answer that believe in global warming is instructive.  Very few can do more than simply state that it is warming because humans are emitting CO2, that it is worse than ever, that it has warmed more in the last 100 years, yada yada yada.  That is nonsense.  We are very lucky to live in a relatively warm time.  To suggest it is bad is so rediculous to me.  They have no concept of history and no concept of what is bad.  What is bad is cooling.

  9. thats simple. it is mans fault. dont listen to that c**p. we drive cars that burn fossil fuels. and we could care less. if people would understand that it will eventually cause and ice age then people will probably try not to kill themselfes. the way to help is to just walk when you can. instead of cars.

  10. Your question has a flawed premise. Try again.

  11. I blame the teachers.

  12. It isn't because the weather changes all the time and the ozone layer is decreasing so why are we complaining.Watch this video.

  13. Man isn't the cause but it is most definately helping it. Pollution and Co2 and such is just melting away the ozone layer. Tsk Tsk Tsk.

  14. global warming isnt caused by man its helped by man.. the earth goes thru these stages of warmth but it has never been as bad as it is now.

  15. Hello? It is caused by us. You know when we drive cars around and litter and all that stuff it is causing pollution and stuff. Well that is causing global warming, and you better start recycling because it can get worse.

Right now the ice caps and stuff are melting 10 TIMES FASTER

because of cars and stuff. Now I am not to sure about it but still I think we should be alittle more careful in life.

  16. To make this claim you need to provide lists of scientists who are for it and against it - unless you happen to know most of the scientists.

But if anyone thinks that billions of people can keep putting billions of tons of carbon into the air and have no effect, that's wishful thinking.

  17. because ever since the world started to burn fossil fuels in their masses the level of CO2 in the air and the worlds temperatures hav gone up more in 100 years than they ever have in 1000000s of years.

there have been changes in climate and CO2 levels all through time, but never as much as this.

It just seems funny that the temperature has changed so fast in the last 100 or so years.

    Ever since the industrial revolution.

  18. While the Earth has experienced natural fluctuations in temperature over the eons, most scientists do actually believe the global warming currently being experienced is caused in large part by human activities, particularly given the unprecedented rate at which warming has occurred, in years and decades rather than centuries or millennia.  The Nobel Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reported in November 2007 that "Most of the observed increase in global average temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic GHG [greenhouse gas] concentrations," i.e. carbon dioxide and other emissions originating in human activity like burning fossil fuels.

Though there are still scientists and politicians and lobbyists who deny the human causation, their prominence and number are exaggerated.  The IPCC is the result of hundreds of scientists collaborating and represents a fairly mainstream view.  There are a number of respected climatologists who believe the IPCC actually understates the problem of climate change, predicting more disastrous consequences (see article below in the New York Review of Books).

Even the Bush Administration, which long neglected the issue of global warming (without any scientific basis of its own, curiously), has come around to the reality we face.

Talking about global warming is uncomfortable for many because it necessitates the question of what is to be done about it once one is convinced it is happening.  Nearly all possible solutions call for alterations in human behavior on a large scale, which are certainly possible but not easy.  Since greenhouse gases are one of the primary culprits behind the warming, certain businesses stand to lose from accepting them (e.g. fossil fuel producers and manufacturers of energy-inefficient technologies), so they may lobby against government action to solve the problem in favor of letting it worsen and making larger profits in the short term.  Others acknowledge that public opinion is already turning and are looking to cultivate a "greener" image and invest in alternative energy sources (BP, for example).

In the end, some people are simply uninformed or misinformed about the issue while others find it convenient to deny the existence of global warming, but CBS/New York Times and Fox News polls from 2007 independently confirm that most Americans believe global warming is occurring - and a majority believe it is human-caused in whole or in part.

  19. No global warming going on here in Mass.

  20. I notice you post this incorrect statement over and over and over and over again.  Do you have anything to support it?

  21. actually the vast majority scientists do think its real. otherwise there would be at least one paper written disputing it that would be published in a journal.

  22. Please provide the list of scientists to back your claime - otherwise your say has no value.
