It makes you wonder what goes on in the minds of some judges. This guy should have got a proper sentence for attempted murder.

  1. The law dictates what the magistrate of the court can do and not do in punishment

    ... . ...

And I assume that the law of punishment had its limits as to what the court could impose

in accordance to the injury that was placed upon the victim in this case a small child

    .. .. ..

And from the extensive amount of things  that has to be accomplished as his punishment

It is as much as the court could place upon the man

    .. ..

  2. 5 years. Nothing other. The Law is an a*s.

  3. The fact that he was drunk is no excuse. If anything, it is an aggravating feature. Just as people who drink and drive choose to do so, he chose to drink and assaut his daughter by throwing her at the car.

Most people who are drunk would never consider throwing their young child at a car. The fact that he chose to do so shows that he is a violent man. His alcohol consumption did not make him violent, it just lowered his inhibitions to activate the violence already there.

I hope that this child is never returned to his 'care' because she will be heading for a childhood of continued violence and abuse. It's a horrific story, her skull could have been cracked, she could have died or been permanently brain-damaged. She is just lucky that she isn't.

  4. But why didn't the mother take the child as he was in no fit state to look after her properly? Sounds like negligence on the part of both parents....I pity the child..

  5. There's no excuse for what he did whatsoever.

  6. I completely agree with you. He should be sent away for attempted murder. Even if he had flung the family cat, there is something seriously distubing about him.

He will come out, and possibly kill.

  7. Um, where do you get the idea that he was trying to kill his daughter? I don't see that anywhere in the article. And since this was clearly an impulsive drunken incident, what does justice have to do with it? If you are under the impression that harshly  punishing people for drunken incidents will somehow prevent same, I have a bridge you might want to buy.

No insult intended, but you must be young to see things in such a black and white way. The judge did the best he could in what I agree is a very troubling case, unless you have vast amounts of education and experience in same...second guessing him is, well, ignorant.

  8. there is NO JUSTICE in this country only charity for the people coming in,people who can do what they like when they like without retribution, there is no law for most, prison is a holiday camp fines are a joke, and 9 years or life never is,briton is the gateway to freedom where most things are free if you don't have a british birth certificate, and the goverment tries to steal every penny you get in the guise of taxation, where does the money go,maybe to their very large pay packets, thier mini bars and luxury homes and cars, justice don't make me laugh,we were seriously attacked by our neighbour,my wife and i were badly beaten and our home destroyed he was fined and ordered to pay us £200 each for injury and £1600 compensation for the damage to our home and we not had a single penny in the last 4 years, but he has a brand new car,a new entertainment system his house has had professional decorators in and also been totally refurnished,so where's the justice in that our carpets are still covered in paint as is our sofa and dining table we can't afford to replace them where is our justice

  9. I think he made the decision in the light of what the mother (who has now divorced him) said.

However, he committed a gross act against a child who could have been killed and so he has a prison sentence hanging over his head.

Lets hope he doesnt get hitched up with another woman and has children with her or moves in if she has children. He is definitely not father material and I hope he recognises that.

  10. I agree 100% with Ellis.

What on earth was the mother thinking of leaving her 4 year old child with a drunk?

It seems that she got away with everything ...as far as I'm concerned she's just as guilty as her husband.
