How can california put points on my drivers licences for employers equipment?

Driving for a trucking company and got inspected at a weigh scale they found the brake linings had cracks and wrote me a ticket. gave the ticket to my company and now I see I have 1.5 points added to my licenses. also at the time I had another states diver licenses and lived in another state.

  2. Since you were the driver of the truck the police was giving the ticket to you. The way the police see it, you're responsible for any maintenance done on the vehicle before you drive it off. Unfortunate but true.

    You could possibly fight the ticket in court if your employer is willing to take the rap for it. Usually the courts won't see it in your favor though. If anything, you could be eligible for traffic school. If you complete it, they'll expunge that ticket off your record. When you receive your notice to appear the information should be provided on the letter.

    For insurance companies, your premium won't go up considerably. It's a regular minor violation like a speeding ticket or failure to yield. Some companies won't even charge a point for it. Unless you have one ticket already on your record, I wouldn't worry about your premium raising.
