  1. Well first of all they have to be powered by a diesel engine.  Most cars are not.  I'm not sure whether or not automobile diesel warranties are voided when you use anything but standard petroleum diesel, but given that there aren't any proper standards for biodiesel, I imagine that you'll be paying for a clogged-up fuel system in your Mercedes yourself.

  3. If it is biodiesel that has has the glycerin remove you just put it in the tank.  You can also modify your engine to run on filtered but unprocessed vegetable oil.

  4. In exactly the same manner they are powered by regular diesel i.e. the fuel is fired by the heat of compression.
