How can chicken liver stay on the hook for fishing

i am go to california to fish and iam useing chicken liver how would it stay on the hook

You can soak it for a few days in strong salt water. That will toughen up the skin enough so that it stays on the hook better.

walmart sells pantyhose for under $1.00 tie it up inside a small piece of painty hose it will be verry hard for even you to pull it off...

use a treble hook and get sewing thread to wrap around it several times then break it off and throw it out there

use nylon cloth called spawn tie. It comes in many different glow colors, to add to the attraction.and will secure to any hook style.

simply get a film canister.

cut the spawn tie into 2" squares

take finger and push into canister to form a pocket.

add the liver the size to fill the pocket the size is flexible

grab the loose ends of spawn tie in index finger and thumb

wrap about 6 terns off thread

then finish with half hitches

I've tried the panty hose, the salt soaking and the treble hook and they are all good methods but I have had just as much trouble doing it that way.  One day  I was out fishing and bumped into this old timer with about 7  really nice cats on his stringer, he was using liver. He was also casting so far out  that it amazed me he didn't loose the liver. I had to ask. He used sewing thread. he hooked the liver on like normal then he started wrapping thread around the liver securing it to the hook.  not extremely tight but not loose. after about 15-20 twists he would just break off the thread, you don't have to tie it on to the hook. if it's one thing I've learned about fishing. If the guy has been fishing longer than I've been alive then you might want to listen to what he has to say

you can go to the store and by a liver hook it looks like a big hook that has another spike that will unhook and u put the liver on that and it will stay on that.
