  1. Could make posters which raise political consciousness. Something like this  Every bite you take out of a Big Mac you take out of The U.N. Then beneath place Why not at the momment instead of The Big Mac spend on The United Nations. If you do you will protect your rights as well as the rights of others.

  2. Do what I did.  Find your local Republican town committee.  Go to their meetings.  Work on a political campaign.  You will learn quick.

  3. Go to campaign rallies, contact your local GOP or DNC and ask them for info about meetings, contact your party affiliation website online and fight for their causes, start a blog, sell your party and talk about the issues that your party represents and ask to volunteer on election day,it is usually volunteer but when I was a poll greeter/watcher in the last Bush election, I got $100.00 for the day from the GOP and I loved it, and last but not least VOTE.

  4. Voting is the ultimate exercise when the citizen can participate in the political process.

  5. Number 1, resister to vote.  Then, if it's possible, work at the precincts on election day.  It's actually fun.

  6. A statement out of the 70s is the guiding star:  Think Globally, act locally.  Look at your local environment, city and state.  Find those activities that are in harmony with your desires for your future.  Think then, globally.  Are there ways that you can support those things that respond to your desires and support your locality while moving toward a greater harmony.  When the answer that comes to you is yes, then look around your community again.  Perhaps, you will see for the first time, the work being done by others.  Join them.  Swell those ranks of people who see the way, the same as you.

  7. Vote!

  8. National politics is seductive, but I believe that people should always participate in their city and county government.  (Believe me, there's at least as much juicy stuff going on there as in national politics, and your voice and opinion will have the more impact.)  Read the papers, watch city and county meetings on TV.  Talk to people -- especially older people who pay attention to these things.  Interview lots of people. You'll discover that most people don't have a clue about what's going on in their city.

  9. It depends on the level of involvement you desire.  The easiest way is to register and vote.  If you want to be more involved you can volunteer to join a particular campaign, political party, or organization.  If you have more money than time, you can make a campaign donation.
