2. This is for homework but I have no choice.

3. I don't want you to write me my whole essay but links would be fine.

  1. Well the quickest answer that comes to mind is disaster relief robots. They go into unsafe areas and try to help by finding and rescuing people. It's very cool (at least in my opinion).

    I've linked stories on those.

They can also help by backing up humans - ie Pilots in a crashing plane or just backing up human watched systems like for nuclear reactors and dams (setting an alarm when things are about to go kablooie).

    =D

Hopefully that's what you're looking for. Good luck on your paper.

  2. As an firefighter, computers can help in

*Identifying a building layout (actual images of blueprints and/or floorplans)

*Identifying a building's contents and hazards (chemical or other items)

*information gathered from pre-planning as well as drills (water supply problems is one--One such drill told us we could be only guaranteed about 15 minutes of water from the hydrants supplied by a water tower on the property and external (tanker trucks relays) supply would need to be set up in the first minutes of a fire)

*Locating owners and keyholders in an emergency where forced entry is not immediately necessary

    *emergency responder headcount

*identify resources available and contact information to obtain such resources.....it isn't always firetrucks or firefighters needed at an emergency scene.  There are times that such things as earthmoving equipment or cranes are needed.
