ok im looking into getting a scooter but i want to get one of those that looks like an actual motorcycle, where i live, as long as its 50cc and under i dont need a license or anything but the scooter i want comes in 50cc and 150cc and they look exactly the same, i just wanted to know if you think if i got the 150cc i could get pulled over even if im not going past the state scooter speed limit (35mph). i just want something thats a little more powerfull and something that can really pick up speed if i need it to.

  1. if its street legal, it will have to have all that data stamped on frame, normally below handelbars on frame neck. you will get nailed.

  2. Did you think all those Dough nuts make them stupid ?

  3. I live in the Uk and you still have to register and insure the bike.

If you can't legally drive the bike then you will either have to drive without insurance or lie to the insurance company. Either way, you are in big trouble if you have any sort of accident.

  4. when you go over 30mph or so, they'll know it ain't no 50cc.... and if you're just gonna do 30mph or less why even bother with the bigger one? the bigger one is capable of doing twice that.

  5. To answer your core question...experience.

  6. In older scooters, one could see the air-cooled cylinders and this would give an indication of engine capacity.   In some jurisdictions, 50cc bikes did not even need plates and drivers did not need licenses (as you mention is still the case where you live).

Remember that cops read the magazines and promotional documents of scooters, and have a pretty good idea of what model is what - just like you would not expect a Cavalier to have a V-8 engine.

  7. Why don't you just get your license and maybe one day get a real motorcycle.?

If your biggest problem is concern over going over 35 mph, then you really should buy a bicycle with training wheels, and a hockey  helmet with your name on the masking tape on the front of it.

  8. I heard of someone who put a 50cc badge on a 150 scooter.

Donuts isn't  brain food.  Cops can't tell from a glance but if you get pulled over they'll nail you.

  9. It's alsousuallyy stamped on the cylinder's,not worth the hassle's ,better the money in your pocket and not there's,then save up and getsomethingg bigger and better
