  1. go to tools..and click  on clear private data -FIREFOX

go to tools  and click on internet options and then click on delete history ,cookies and TIF..-INTERNET EXPLORER

  2. tools, internet options, content, auto complete, clear forms, apply, ok

  3. Recent searches are stored in the registry at the following location:

    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Search Assistant\ACMru\

There may be multiple groups under that, usually a four digit number.  You can delete the entire branch of the registry.

BE VERY CAREFUL!!!!  If you mess up your registry your computer may become inoperable!!!!

  4. Click tools above and enter inet options. Hit the clear history tab. In content open auto complete and disable web addresses to stop it permanently.

  5. You need to clear or disable Auto Complete. This saves all previous searches in your search bar. Here's how to fix the problem:

For Internet Explorer: Click on Tools. Then Internet Options. Click on Content and then Auto Complete. Then click on Clear Forms. This will erase your search history. If you don't want things showing up again in your search history then deselect the Auto Complete options at the top. Be sure to select apply or ok at the bottom.

  6. yeah i've always wondered that. cuz i can delete history and it'll still be there

  7. right click and delete.

  8. Tools > Internet Options > General > Browsing History > Delete

Or, if you only want to get rid of a particularly embarrasing one, put the cursor on it, then press "Delete".
