How often do these activities go into overtime? I like cannonballs, how come these don't win and why doesn't my opinion matter on this?

  1. The winner is based on opinion by Opianted people????

When did the judges start taking opium?

Actually it's not about opinion, there are very clear scoring systems behind these sports - well diving and gymnastics.

Anyway if being a sport is based on judging then boxing, weightlifting, judo etc. would be out. Also football and hockey, they have "judges" who make decisions based on what they see.

  2. You can say the same thing about boxing, MMA, and even basketball isn't completely judge free. The referees have a huge impact on team sports. So in your world the only sports would be sprinting and hurdling.

I'm surprised I answered this question because you're kind of dumb.

  3. In that case how can basketball, tennis, swimming, football, boxing, weightlifiting baseball be sports when they rely on umpires and referees to make judgement calls that affect the outcome of the game?

  4. yeah, some of the sports are more technical, some of then are withou a sweat (guns)...hard to compare..chess is consider to be kind of a sport ! or curling. i would say, these are just social games...on the other hand, you got marathon, triathlon or cycling

  5. They need skills to do these sports properly. It takes training so it is still sports

  6. This question reminds me of a t-shirt my friend had.  It said "If Cheer leading was any easier they would call it football."  These are all tests of ones body and, in some cases, the communications between teammates.  All of these are very demanding.  Other sports - those with overtime - are also based on the opinion of opinionated people... the refs.  There are a lot of bad calls in the other sports that have cost a team a game.

Also, the sources are not just based on opinions.  There are very specific dedications and way of scoring; Judging has become mechanical.  Instead, think of it like a ref calling a 10 minute penalty in hockey or making a team move 5 yards in football.

  7. yea i know how you feel. but its still a sport were there competing to be the best. but ea most sporting events in olympics and events are jugging sports. its really kind of weird to have people tell you your good or not. but you cant help the sport you love to do. if you love it you'll compete to be the best no matter what.
