  1. you have general unemployment which is a number of people actively looking for a job but cant find it and there are other types of unemployment such as structural for ex. ( when you have a English teacher working as a marketing consultant  because there is no any position open for teaching job)

so, in other case you have unemployed English teacher (cos he/she is not doing her/his job) but when you look at general unemployment that person is not there.

  2. Employment increases because aliens are taking the jobs, unemployment increases because Americans are out of those jobs. Funny isnt it? Yea not really.

  3. Possibly when people have been out of work for a long time are starting to get jobs and work - that would be employment on the increase.

If people who have previously been working start losing their jobs, this would be unemployment on the increase.

    :-)

  4. When there is a rapid increase of population which is not that efficient as much as the job needs they naturally dont qualify for the job. And also for increasing population the company may need more workers. Thus resulting in increase in employment and unemployment.

  5. lol Good question! It doesnt really happen darl. This is just an example of why lies clash!! Did you hear this on the news?

Just to let you know... unemployment is on the increase!! Big time :) x

  6. When the employed labor force grows, you have a rise in employment. The "unemployment" you read about is usually an expression of the PERCENTAGE of the workforce that is unemployed.  So the statement "The workforce grew by X and the unemployment rate was up .2%" are not at all mutually exclusive. This can also take place with absolute measures as well. Total employment can grow by 100 people and the number of unemployed people could grow by one unit as well.
