How can get the sound back on my PC?

There is nothing wrong with my speakers. Every program I try to run with sound (IE iTunes) tells me there is a problem with my sound. I am a musician with a PC based home studio so this is of great importance to me. Any help will be appreciated.

Go into the control panel and hit "system".  Hit "Hardware" and then select the "device manager"  There might be a problem with your soundcard.  Click "sound, media devices" and then go down the list til you get to your sowndcard (it may be integrated).  If there's an exclamation point, you may be able to fix the problem there.
