How can good teachers be influenced or encouraged to be leaders in their schools.?

What are some of the role, actions and skills they will need to have in order to be great leaders.

The most important rule of all;

THE GOLDEN RULE

Treat others the way you want to be treated.

This includes everyone you meet in everyday life.

Teachers and all need to be thanked, complimented, and thanked some more.

Some skills would be listening, reasoning, counseling, respect for self and others.

They can be influenced and encouraged by leaders not afraid to recognize that there are many good ways to solve most problems.  Their efforts should be recognized.  They can be assigned to teams for collegial problem solving to improve their group skills.

As in all fields, great leaders do not dictate. They do good work, communicate well, respect the work of others, and set good professional and personal examples within all aspects of their lives.

To be a leader in education, excellent verbal and written skills are required as well as a thorough knowledge of education practices and principles.

They should also be proactive problem solvers.

As we said back in the day, "If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem."
