You cannot hide your IP.  YOU have to have a "Real" IP address in order for anything to get back to you.

You can use Anonymizers, but they slow your surfing and should only be used if your doing something illegal.  Again, they dont really HIDE your tracks, only make it harder to be found.

Why do you want to hide your IP?

If you use bradband or another computer, that'll change your IP anyways. To date, they really can't do much to ya.

You can use proxy anonymizer sites like http://anonymizer.com/ but their free offerings aren't very good. Traffic will be relayed through them and the site on the other end will see randommachinename.anonymizer.com as the endpoint.  The site acts as a relay.

The best option is to go low tech and not even bother spoofing your ip, but rather to use somebody else's via a wireless connection.  I use a laptop and take it to my local panera bread for that sort of thing.  Their wifi is annoymous, requiring no signin or password.  You can even use it from an automobile slightly outside the building.
