  1. Hey, I understand where you're coming from, when I started home schooling, there was no information anywhere about the laws and / or guides to home schooling in my area, it's a tough thing to find!

Anyway, I found a few websites-

    http://www.hslda.org/laws/default.asp?St...

That's all about the laws for home schooling in Florida.

    http://www.hslda.org/hs/state/FL/default...

That's got some information in home schooling in Florida, not laws, but general stuff.

    http://ezinearticles.com/?Home-Schooling...

That's a guide to home school in Florida, which is really helpful!

    http://www.fpea.com/starting/index/css/s...

That's an e-zine, directed at home schoolers Florida called Starting Point.

    http://www.floridaschoolchoice.org/infor...

And that's the Florida department of education on Home schooling.

As well as that, I suggest getting your Mum to buy you a few basic things, such as dictionaries, thesaurases, atlases, and anything to do with the subjects you're doing. (Art - Paintbrushes, paint, pencils, coloured pencils. Science - Textbooks, a few basic chemicals, cheap thrift store test tubes. Maths - Scientific calculator, etc;)

Also, if you find yourself needing textbooks, a great place to buy them is here-

    http://www.amazon.com/New-Used-Textbooks...

They've got both new and used textbooks, for anyone's budget.

I hope I helped, and good luck!

if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask!

  2. our school is a branch of School of Tomorrow, U.S.A. (i live here in the Philippines)...we're using A.C.E. curriculum... u could try checking out their website: www.schooloftomorrow.com... it's not an online schooling, and u don't need to have tutors for this...it's realy great! =) i've been homeschooled there since i was grade 3..

  3. You can do it online if you want to, but you don't have to.  Go to http://www.hslda.org/hs/state/FL/default...  To find out the laws in Florida, but basically you have two options (other than Florida Virtual school, which is legally Public School at home, not homeschooling.)

Florida Legal Home Schooling Options:  1  2

    Legal Option: 1

Establish and operate a home school

    Attendance:

    None specified

    Subjects:

    None

Qualifications (this means the Parent's qualifications):

    None

    Notice:

File notice of intent with the local superintendent within 30 days of establishment for home school (not required annually)

    Recordkeeping:

Maintain a portfolio of records and materials (log of texts and sample work sheets)

    Testing:

Do one of the following annually: 1) take any standardized test or a state student assessment test which is administered by a certified teacher, 2) be evaluated by a certified teacher, 3) be evaluated by a licensed psychologist, or 4) an evaluation by another valid tool that is mutually agreed upon.

    Legal Option 2

Qualify and operate as part of a private school corporation (a legally incorporated group of home school families)

    Attendance:

    180 days

    Subjects:

    None

    Qualifications:

    None

    Notice:

    None

    Recordkeeping:

    None

    Testing:

    None

So basically you can go it alone just by filing the paperwork with the superintendent, do yearly testing, and keep your own records, including a portfolio of your work

    OR

You can join a legally incorporated group of other homeschoolers.

You don't HAVE to do Florida virtual school, or pay for a private on-line school.  There are other options.
