See i wanna gain weight around certain parts of my body but i don't know how.

I'm 18, 5'4 and 104 lb.. Although most people would say I'm "in shape" because I'm thin, (and i do work out..but mainly on my legs and that's it because if i work out too much ill start LOSING weight which is NOT what i wanna do!)) I don't see it that way. My main problem is i have very skinny arms...(from the waist below I'm ok, although a little more meat there wouldn't hurt either) so to clear all this up..

HOW CAN I ADD MORE MEAT TO MY BODY?

(in parts like my thighs, and arms)

  1. just add a little more calories to your diet, this will most likely take time and build some muscle mass in the areas you would like to gain some bulk, but keep your diet consistent of with healthy foods. to me it doesn't really sound like you need to gain any weight, but whatever floats your boat

need some serious help with my question please

  2. I know what you mean, I was like you, I hated my arms and legs cause they were so skinny! Time put weight on me, it got my arms and legs so I was happy with them, but it also piled on the belly. Now I am trying to get rid of the belly fat! It sucks, especially as I am lazy and don't want to work out.

I would work on building muscle in those areas you want to increase...do different exercises. The Wii Fit game is a good way to help you out at home without having to deal with a gym, plus it is a game! You have to have a Wii system though! They do strength exercises and yoga to build muscles.

Eat healthy as well, lots of fruit, veggies, protien...shop the areas around the edges of the store rather than the middle.

You can lose fat, but muscle weighs more than fat!

  3. o please dont worry.......but if you have to try chicken

  4. what i did to gain some meat was just to strengthening exercises on those parts. like my legs.

  5. By workout, do you mean cardio? Maybe you need to lift weights. Muscles weighs a lot.

If you are muscular, then just accept that you have skinny arms.

  6. Work out with toning activities rather than bulking - swimming, BodyPump, dance, aerobics...

Also, up your protein intake - it will help your muscles develop so that your body does not simply read your exercise as the pursuit of weight-loss. Keep track of how many calories your burn, and make sure you balance them with the amount of food you are eating.

  7. Wow, it's not often you hear women asking a question like this. It's great that you're looking at your body a little differently, however, there are extremes to everything, and getting too body obsessed in any direction won't help you in the long run. If you want to feel more in shape though, you might want to think more about the shape and less about size. Focus on forms of protein (vegetarian protein in particular, because in large amounts the cholestrol from animal sources present health problems, even for the thin) and working out using weights. If you want to increase your arm strength, you should use your arm muscles, this might mean using weights, or if you're like me, and that sounds tedious, trying something like rowing or biking. Maybe even try to train for a triathalon (we've all seen swimmers bodies post olympics, and cyclists develop very large quadriceps).

This might lead to more weight loss if you don't balance the exercise with extra calories though. So make sure you're balancing calories against workouts. A good website to help you figure out the balance for this is actually the SELF magazine website. They have a diet club that calorie counts for you and that figures out your workout calories as well. You still need fruits, veggies, and carbs, so don't just eat protein, but definitely try to raise the amount you eat. A good high energy, high protein food that I ate last night was rice and beans with just a little cheese. A banana before a workout for energy, and some nuts right after to help start getting protein to the muscles is a good trick. But, you really need to workout your caloric needs first. Try to stick with a plan for a few weeks through something like the self diet club, and you'll get used to what you need.

You may always be thin, but muscle tone will add some curve to your arms and legs.

  8. dont worryyyyyyyy

    i'm 15

    5'2 and 90lbs :)

  9. Eat lots of protein, and do weight training (lifting), not cardio.

Do lots of situps to avoid the bellyfat you're talking about.

  10. Well you are lucky. These areas just need only a little weight and they increase in size so if u really want some more "meat" (muscle) in these zones you should be doing exercises that involve lots of weights.
