How can i Volunteer for good causes or aid work?

I would love to do something like this but dont know how to find the placments or contacts for this sort of work. I would be willing to travell to any part of the world to do work that will achieve somthing good or help others. Has anyone got the faintest idea how to get involved in this sort of work?

If you are interested in politics, find out if there are any openly g*y candidates to your city council or legislature and volunteer for one of them.  That would be very noble and beneficial both for society and for you.

If you are interested only in international work, then Peace Corps would definitely be the right choice.

Get involved with a local church or religious institution. There are many other organisations through which you can get volunteer or work on aid projects but the need is greatest when it comes to missionary activities. If you are not a Christian, there a lot of other faiths that have outrech programmes in various parts of the world- the Bahai Faith especially does incredible work spreading literacy and educating people about health and sanitation. There is also an inter-religious group called The One Campaign that distributes basic services to the poorest of the poor around the world. These types of programmes that uplit people socially, economically and spirtually all at the same time are having the most impact on a dying world. You could also get involved in fund-raising for these types of initiatives- they are the most under-funded and do not benefit from government grants and U.N or E.U resources.
