How can i add surname to my name ?

my name at present is Rahul only i want to add a surname but i find it very difficult kindly tell me how can i do it i have a pan card with name as rahul and ration card too.

leave the column , most of hindu names have no surname, first name second name last name. o nly one name

Wondering how you are without one. Any how, you can add surname to your name by consulting a lawyer in your neighborhood and he will file an affidavit regarding the same. Once done with it you need to give a small ad in a local newspaper (may be in classifieds section) to tell the world about it. You will get a change of name certificate from Court.
