  1. I was horrified to hear that girls were playing rugger, until I went to watch a match (in Honk Kong).  I saw right away that these weren't just a bunch of dykes, but our own sisters and girl friends, with the same outrageous rugby spirit.  Lovely.

Also, they wear a sort of overall t*t-strap for mammary protection - the female equivalent of our jock-straps : that eases my mind a bit too.  Let me know when there are mixed teams : I'll be back in the scrum tomorrow.

  2. Newspaper/radio/flyers. Put up signs of game times. Tell the local schools about your team.

  3. get your local newspaper/radio station to come to training. think about what makes your team special. Are you the only ladies team in your area? Make sure everyone knows when and where you train. word of mouth is  by far the most effective means of advertising tell everyone you know- send an email circular around your workplace design some sumple posters have you got a logo? You need to distinguish your team from the mens or other ladies teams. Put signs on the nearest roundabout directing you to the training ground. Put posters up in the pub, think about the kind of people you want to join your team, what do they do? What are they interested in?If your players like going to the gym,  put signs up there.if you think there more likely to be in tesco, put signs up there.  Try and get as much free advertising as possible. I am a graphic designer if I can be of any further assistance let me know. fionatheobald@yahoo.co.uk

  4. local press and try and set up a web siyte as well. Advertise your games on posetrs around your local town often works as well

  5. Well go to the Newspaper, Radio stations.  Write to or send in videos to tv stations, Send out flyers.

Set up a match with another team and make a big night of it.  This should, depending on the quality of the match, promote your team and the game within your community.

Oh and go to a big rugby game (The All Blacks) and have a big banner with your teams name etc on it. That should bring some coverage in.  And if you really want some attention you and your team could always streak.  Haha!  Though I don't recommend it.
