How can i back up my contacts on my iphone 3G?

if i ever lose my phone, i dont want to lose all my friends phone numbers..is there a way to back them up?

Yes.  There are two options.  If you lose your iPhone, and you get a new one, you can just back up your phone and the data (including your contacts) will be transferred to the new phone.  (This happened to me before!)

Also, I use Apple's address book application to sort my contacts.  Every time I create a new contact on my iPhone it updates the address book on my computer.  So you could try opening the address book application and seeing if they are already in there.  

Lastly, if you use a PC, the only option might be to write them down, type them, and save them on your computer.
