That picture is hysterical. Honestly I don't really know, but I think it has to do with your level. (how many questions asked and answered) and Best Answer %. Keep plugging away. Love that picture!

I have been a top contributor for a good while and its not really related to level as much as its related to how many and how frequently you answer questions.  I am a top contributor in the travel category.  I answer questions almost exclusively in travel and mostly in the cruise travel category.   When I first started I answered in about 5 categories of travel including Las Vegas, Hawaii, Niagara Falls, and some others.  But I found that it was just too much to keep up with questions in all of them.  So now its mostly cruise and just a few Vegas and Hawaii. The only reason why I am answering this/your question is I just happened to see it as I was browsing around.

There are no advantages or rewards to being a top contributor other than that larger icon around your screen name.
