How can i be less selfish???!!!?

im extremely sellfish, the only ppl i care about who arent me is my family, jesus and God, for example hurricane gustav, i dont care about the ppl being affected, i care that the gas prices r gonna rise, and thats gonna suck, or when im dating and lets say someone bothers my gf, or hits her, i dont care about her, i just think, i have to protect her or im gonna look like a p***y.

i think this has to do with not really having a mom

so how can i be less selfish?

What does it mean to "care?"

You can use your aloofness to benefit others, whether you care that you're helping or not. Become a surgeon, a lot of people would feel too much empathy to cut into a really hurt person, but it wouldn't bother you.

Are you affected by suffering in stories? Watch "Schindler's List" and see how you feel afterwards.

so how can i be less selfish?  Give to others without benefit to self and expect nothing in return.

How can you be empathetic and compassionate?  Put yourself in someone else's position. Try seeing things from their point of view.

Its not that bad to think about yourself but if u do it all the time then its bad. Try to think abt others a bit more than usual. Try to care for others.
