  1. fast dribbling, small and quick players like Chris Paul and

    others

  2. Use your quickness and speed. Use some series of fakes because taller players always attempt to block shots. Use some acrobatic moves, me when I face against taller guys I give them my acrobatic moves so they won't block my shots.

  3. I have no clue.

    Its tough.

  4. pass the ball to your team mates, :D

  5. You cannot put all your hopes on the fact that you will be faster than someone taller than you. I will honestly tell you in my experience, Varsity level tall players are very agile. If we were to use the NBA as an example, you won't beat Amare Stoudamire or Chris Bosh with speed alone.

So to beat a tall defender, you have to bang up against them a couple of plays to flush out their weakness. What I usually do is size them up the first play down. Try to post them up, and you don't even have to post up down low. If you're a guard, then back them at the three-point line with or without the ball. See if he can defend you if you play physical. I will tell you that tall doesn't always mean strong, and if you can physically overpower him, it is optimal.

The second option if he is stronger than you would be to use speed. Run him around a couple of screens and see if he can keep up. Flash down and fake a cut, then come back. If he isn't quick enough to keep up, then try to maximize on this. It requires more running and energy than the first option, but you can get a decent shot off. When utilizing your speed, remember that most of the time, moving without the ball will get you the best angle for a shot. Also, try moving behind his blind side (the area the back of his head, NOT the back of his body, is facing).

If that fails, the third and last option would be to use tricks and small fakes to shake him. Don't be afraid to go up against him. Don't fear a block. When you shoot to avoid a block, you've already missed whether he blocks it or not. Shoot to make it hard to block, yet don't over-arc the shot. Use a couple of spin moves, and throw in an up-and-under every once in awhile.

These three options don't have to be path you follow. The key is to focus on his weaknesses. If, for example, you find that he doesn't do well playing perimeter defense, then you should capitalize. If you're not a great shooter, drive to the basket instead. Use his weaknesses to your advantage. Many coaches tell you to use your strengths, but I find that for an average player with average abilities, using your opponents weaknesses is much more realistic.

  6. Use your speed use pump fakes to throw the defender off balance.

Use your jump shot use the tricks if you can on the perimeter it will throw him off.

Take him off the dribble with speed.

Everything you do against a taller defender do it with speed.

On defense use quick hands and go for steals.

  7. when they post up on you you need to be like me, or kobe bryant, see the game in slow motion, what i mean is dont go for any quick swipes at the ball just watch him dribble as he posts on you and watch his hand, as soon as the ball leaves his hand to dribble you smack it away and boom, easy steal,it works

  8. well as captain of my basketball team i say u should dribble dribble fake a shot than really shoot

  9. ima tell u im short and i played varsity bball sinnce i was a freshman now im a junior and i start im like 5 8 but i beat everybody by thepump fake and speed it works and u will get past every1

  10. be stronger like Kendirck perkins manhandled Gasol in the finals, also use speed, and agility. jump higher than them

  11. i was playing a guy 5 inches taller than me last week end... speed will not matter if both of you can run fast.. the trick here is to be crafty... be sneaky and deceptive

what i did was i backed him down then pretended to hook it with my right then just faced up and shot it

basketball isnt always about height nor strength its also about having a good head. basketball IQ... you know he will most likely block your shot so fake him out of his position... if your down low give him a little dream shake to make him move to a certain direction then shoot the other way or get some space and shoot.

remember taller defenders doesnt always mean wider and stronger ones..... the taller they are the farther they are from the ground :P so you can probably send a little nudge and see what happens

  12. Usually, the taller the person is, the slower he is. Use speed to run by them and drive into the paint. You don't necessarily have to be tall to be good. Look at all the undersized point-guards out there, Chris Paul, Iverson, Tony Parker, all of them are successful.

    Good luck =].

  13. Use your speed!!

It is effectective me i am tall for my position but when I play against smaller defenders ihave a hard time on theirs speed.

    Im fast they are faster
